Producing Experience

One Eye Gone, CalArts & Edinburgh Fringe, 2009                                                                            Director, Katie Shook

A puppet and video adaptation of Godzilla by playwright Eric Ehn. Integrated live, originally composed music. CalArts’ pilot production for incorporating ecologically sustainable theater materials and techniques.  Design and Production team presented our findings and methodologies at Earth Matters On Stage conference in Eugene, OR in May, 2009.

 

Strom Thurmond Is Not a Racist, Blank-the-Dog Productions, 2008                          Artistic Director, Nataki Garrett

Los Angeles premiere of play by Village Voice acclaimed playwright Thomas Bradshaw.  Performed in a non-theater, downtown loft space.

 

That Untravelled World, CalArts, 2008                                                                                             Director, Phil Soltanoff

Thesis play by playwright Jane Pickett, with original music composed by Josh Chambers, included interactive video design and animations.  $35,000 of lighting equipment donated by LA Opera to create a fully controllable light grid in the stage.  Directed by Molière Award recipient and multimedia auteur Phil Soltanoff.

 

Chocolate City: An Alternative Showcase, Bootleg Theater, 2008                                     Artistic Director, Dave Mack

Organized a group of aspiring actors from CalArts and USC and created a showcase with a director and choreographer.  Commissioned new short works by playwrights Boni Alvarez, Jeanine Salinas and Sibyl O’Malley.  Successfully solicited donations of food, wine and catering services for the event.

 

The Big Funk, Clock Productions (Chicago), 2001                                                                        Director, Robin Chaplik

Chicago premiere of John Patrick Shanley play.  Production nominated for Joseph Jefferson Awards for Best Actor and Best Scenic Design.

 

 

 

 

 

Additional Arts Management Experience

Assistant Producer, Big Heart Theatrical, 2009                                                                        Producer, Anne Hamburger

Primary assistant to the Producer in the creation of a new production company for live entertainment, with an emphasis on Broadway, Off-Broadway and site specific performance projects.  Researched projects and collaborated and corresponded with creative artists, producers, agents and business office staff.  Ongoing involvement in several projects currently in development.

Interacted with audiences and worked special events for two seasons as Front-of-House staff at Center Theater Group’s 330-seat Culver City theater committed to producing new work.
